Our Story
More than coffee
The Culture Cup is the story of a nation and the collective history of an entire community. Through the celebration of history and culture, the Culture Cup strives to cultivate a welcoming environment that inspires all.
When owner and founder Nikki Brown first moved to Northern VA, she worked for ten years with the Fairfax County government as a community outreach worker. It was during that time, that she learned that there was so much deeply rooted African American history in NOVA. She also became aware that much of NOVA African American history was not common knowledge. It soon became her mission to create a space where the legacies and contributions of African American culture could be honored, preserved, and celebrated.

We're Loved
Why Our customers love us
"Culture Cup is a welcome addition to our community. The inside is filled with Gainesville history and the vibe is super cozy. We haven’t had a coffee we don’t rave about. The Maple Morrison Latte and Sweet Potato Latte are SO GOOD! We’ve sampled about 4 different pastries and been happy with them all. The bacon, egg, and cheese and the avocado toast are our go-tos for something more substantial. If you haven’t stopped by, you need to!."
